Thor, Fifth Lesson, Teaching the Down with Pressure

The next step to on leash obedience is teaching down and adding pressure. This is the fifth official leash lesson for my German Shepherd puppy and in this video, I will show you how to build on the solid foundation you currently have to introduce the concept of down to your dog.  In this lesson we start with movement to gain the dog's attention and then reiterate the stay.  If your foundation is solid you shouldn't have much problem with the heel, sit or stay, so make sure to spend plenty of time building that foundation before moving on.   After Lee has a solid sit, stay, he begins to lurr the dog down into position and insist he STAYS there using the stay command.
